How to install wordpress for your offline use

WordPress is one of the most popular content management system ( CMS ) in the world. It is a very easy platform in building a blogging website unlike other popular content management systems.

Not only it is good and one of the well recommended platform for building a blog, it is also widely used all around the in building different kinds of website like commercial or static website.

However, new users do not know that installing WordPress is very and it takes less time to be installed and launched.

In this tutorial, i will be showing you how you can install your WordPress for offline use.

Why installing wordpress offline?

Most web hosting companies allow you to install WordPress within few clicks. Meanwhile, installing WordPress is a simple process that takes less than five minutes to complete.

Installing WordPress offline helps you get a clear design of your website before uploading it to the internet. It makes you finish your design offline.

In this WordPress installation tutorial, our goal is to offer a comprehensive WordPress installation tutorial for beginners as well as advanced users. We will show you how to install WordPress using Xamp in your local computer. We will explain how to install WordPress manually for our intermediate users.

Here are the procedures on installing WordPress offline:

  1. Download WordPress

First and foremost, you will need to download WordPress first. It comes in .zip file which you will download on the WordPress website. After downloading the file you unzip the file and place it in the htdocs folder in the your Xamp or the WWW in your Wamp server. You can download WordPress here

2. Create a database

Next is to create a database for your website. This database will hold all the contents of your website. WordPress works with database.

Open your browser and type in localhost/phpmyadmin. Create a database and create a user to access the database.

3. Installing WordPress

Now that you have created a database and assigned a user to the database, its time to start our WordPress installation.

  • Type in localhost/tutorial-install in your browser.
  • Select a language of your choice ( in this tutorial we select English)

After that click continue and the wordpress configuration setup appears, click on let’s go

4. Setup WordPress

Here is where you setup your WordPress configurations. You will fill in the spaces shown to you on the screen.

Here we have the database connection system that connect the WordPress to the database. We have the database name which is tutorial, the username we assigned privileges to the database and the password. (Remember to keep your password safe).  Then click on submit.

If filled correctly, you are free to run WordPress. Then click run.

5. Finish Installation

Finally, you are in the installation wizard of WordPress. Here is where you will fill out your new website details like your website name and the also the username and password you will use to login to your website admin dashboard. After filling out the spaces given to you, then your now free to install your new WordPress website offline.
